What this site collects, what the tools do with your answers and how to get your information removed.

This page says exactly what this site collects, what runs in the background and how to get your information removed. Plain language, no legal fog. Last updated 26 July 2026.

Who runs this site

The IEP & 504 Library is an independent educational reference for parents, published by the team behind The IEP & 504 Command Center, the paid companion linked from these pages. We are not a school district, a state education agency or a law firm. Anything on this page you want explained, ask us at support@iep504library.org.

What we collect

The only thing you hand us is what you type into an opt-in form. That is your email address. The page also sends the topic it covers, filled in for you as a hidden field so one form can serve every printable. We do not ask for your name, your phone number, your address, your child's name, your child's school or your child's diagnosis. There is no account to make.

Your submission goes to the form storage on the site's host and to our customer record system, tagged with the topic you asked about. We use it to send the free printable you asked for, to email you if the guidance on that topic changes and to send our newsletter, which sometimes carries an offer for one of our own products.

What the two tools do with your answers

The goal practice builder and the evaluation deadline checker run inside your own browser. While you are working in them, nothing you select or assemble is sent anywhere.

Each of those tools also carries an opt-in form that offers to email you the free printable along with what you built. Read this part carefully, because it is the one place a tool answer leaves your screen. If you submit that form, the answer you constructed in the tool is sent with your email address and stored on your record, so the email we send back can show it to you. Nothing is sent if you do not submit the form. If you would rather keep what you built off our records entirely, copy it off the screen and skip the form. Whatever you enter, please keep your child's name and any identifying detail out of it. The tools never need it and we do not want it.

Analytics and cookies

Two measurement tools run on every page of this site.

  • Google Analytics 4. Counts traffic. It tells us how many people reached a page, which pages get read and roughly where visitors arrived from, all in aggregate.
  • Microsoft Clarity. Records session playbacks and heatmaps: where a page was scrolled, where a click landed, where a layout confused someone. We use it to find pages that read badly so we can fix them.

Both set cookies or similar browser storage on your device so a returning visit is not counted as a new person. Be clear on what the second one means here, because these pages sit close to your child: your movement through them can be played back later as a recording. Neither tool gets your email address from us. Neither is used to build an advertising profile of you or of your family.

Switching them off is your call and nothing on this site breaks if you do. Block cookies for this site in your browser settings or read the site in your browser's private mode. Google also publishes an Analytics opt-out add-on that turns Analytics off across every site you visit. The providers' own terms: Google privacy policy and Microsoft privacy statement.

This site is written for parents

Everything here is addressed to the adult in the room. We do not knowingly collect anything from a child. No form on this site asks for a child's information. If you believe a child sent us something, tell us and we will delete it.

What we do not do

We do not sell your information. We do not rent it, trade it or hand it to a data broker. We never pass anything to a school, a district, a state agency or an advocacy service. There is no Facebook pixel, no TikTok pixel and no ad-network tracker anywhere on this site. The only outside companies that touch your email are the service providers we use to store the list and send the mail. They act on our instructions only.

Unsubscribing

Every email we send carries an unsubscribe link at the bottom. One click and you are off the list. You can also just reply and ask.

Seeing or deleting what we hold

Email support@iep504library.org and ask for a copy of what we hold on you, a correction or a full deletion. We honor the request whatever state or country you write from. We will not ask you to prove you qualify under a particular law first. A deletion takes you off the email list and removes your record, including anything a tool sent with it.

How long we keep it

Your email stays on the list until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. Traffic and session data expire on Google's and Microsoft's own retention schedules, set out in the policies linked above.

If this changes

If we add or drop anything that touches your data, this page changes with it and the date at the top moves. That date is the honest record of when this was last true.

The order pages

This page covers this site: the free pages, the free downloads and the newsletter. The order pages for The IEP & 504 Command Center sit on a separate host at get.iep504library.org with their own policy, published there. If you buy, read that one too.
